Aromatherapy |
Aromatherapy can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. It is an art and science which seeks to explore the physiological, psychological and spiritual realm of the individual's response to aromatic extracts as well as to observe and enhance the individual's innate healing process. As a holistic medicine, Aromatherapy is both a preventative approach as well as an active treatment during acute and chronic stages of illness or 'dis'-ease.
It is a natural, non-invasive treatment system designed to affect the whole person not just the symptom or disease and to assist the body's natural ability to balance, regulate, heal and maintain itself by the correct use of essential oils.
"Aromatherapy is essentially an interaction between the therapist, client and essential oils, working together to bring forth the healing energy which will help the client regain their sense of well being and vitality." Jade Shutes

Indian head massage |
Indian Head Massage is a relaxing and de-stressing massage of the scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper arms. Oil to the scalp is optional. There are two variants; Traditional Ayurvidec and Western Style. The treatment incorporates shiatsu and acupressure techniques on the head, scalp, face, neck, upper back, shoulders, arms, ears and hands, helping to relax tense areas and rebalance the body energy by releasing any areas of negativity or stress.
Indian Head Massage is based on the ancient Ayurvedic healing system using the upper chakras and has been practiced in India for thousands of years. Head massage not only proves an invaluable treatment, it also helps relieve stress related problems including:headaches, eyestrain and neck and shoulder stiffness. The head more than any other part of our body represents who we are. It is the centre of our nervous system, and home to our identity and intelligence. The Chakra at the top of our head (Crown Chakra) is the one we use to communicate with our higher self. If our head feels good, we feel good.

Hot Stone Therapy |
Stone Therapy is a modern treatment embedded in ancient principles, having been used in every corner of the globe in one form or another for thousands of years, most notably as part of Chinese pharmocopeia, a precursor to acupuncture and by American Indians. SInce the dawn of time, people have been drawn to the energies of stones for relgious or healing reasons.
Basalt pebbles are used in hot stone therapy; with their iron content they are perfect for retaining heat and their smooth finish means they glide easily over the body. Once heated, they are massaged onto the body with carrier oil. The heat, as well as the natural energy that is exuded from the stones themselves, is extremely beneficial, cleansing, rejuvenating and restoratitive.
Incredibly relaxing, the short term effect of massaging hot basalt stones on the body is fabulously therapeutic, helping to boost the immune system and aid recovery. Heat causes:
• Vasodilation - widening of the blood vessels which in turn increases blood flow circulation around the body. Waste products will be flushed out and internal organs cleansed.
• Increased metabolism- helping the body process food and eliminate toxins.
• Increased cell renewal- rebalancing of hormones and increased production of new blood cells and new tissue.
• Increased lymph function- the body’s waste disposal system working more efficiently, cleansing and eliminating.
• Relaxation: heat relaxes the muscle response, aiding deeper relaxation, increased range of movement and reduced tension Repair can take place easier. The body adjusts and homeostasis is reached.

On-site massage |
is a relaxing massage therapy specifically designed for the work place. Though this therapy originated quite recently in the Silicone Valley, USA, it is based on the principles of an ancient Japanese massage technique called “Anma”. The popularity of on-site massage in the corporate sector has been steadily growing in the recent years. This invigorating massage therapy totally de-stresses the body and refreshes the mind with a minimum of fuss, and best of all, it achieves all of this while you are still at work.

How does On-site massage work? |
On-site massage is carried out with the client fully clothed and sitting in a specially designed chair. No oils or creams are used during this massage therapy. The massage therapist uses his or her hands and elbows to stimulate over a hundred specific pressure points on the head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands and back. This sequence of massage improves the flow of energy throughout the body and stimulates the functioning of the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. It also reduces muscle tension in the upper body, especially the neck and shoulder regions. A typical massage session could last from anywhere between five to twenty minutes.
On-site massage works in two ways. First the gentle massage reduces the build-up of tension in muscles that are commonly used while sitting and working at a desk. The dissipation of all this tension which is accumulated in the neck, shoulders and back leaves the client feeling very relaxed. The therapist then stimulates the pressure points to improve the functioning of the various organ systems of the body. This has an invigorating effect on the body and the mind.

Benefits of On-site massage |
On-site massage has a dual benefit. It not only benefits the person receiving the massage, but also benefits the employer that has arranged for this session of on-site massage at his or her workplace. Let us see how this happens.
|
| |
 |
Benefits to the employees |
On-site massage addresses all the symptoms associated with spending long hours working at your desk. It provides relief from head, neck and back aches, relieves stress and muscular tension, improves concentration and mental alertness, relieves eyestrain, and reduces migraines. In addition to providing relief from these stress related symptoms, on-site massage also improves the functioning of the body by stimulating the vital pressure points. It has been proven to be especially useful in the treatment of conditions such as sciatica, lower back pain, whiplash injuries, arthritis, tennis elbow, pre-natal pains and menstrual disorders.
Benefits to the employers You already pay your employees enough. So why should you invest some more money to give them massages, when they should be working? Well, the statistics speak for themselves. On-site massage benefits the organization and the employer by increasing the productivity of the employees. The equation is simple. If your employees are stress-free they will be able to work harder for you and thereby increase the profitability of your organization. On-site massage helps to boost the morale of your staff and results in greater creativity and input on their part. Most important of all, it shows your employees that you care about their well-being. This results in increased staff loyalty towards the organization and towards you.
